Under general supervision, this position investigates, evaluates, and negotiates favorable resolutions to Auto Liability, General Liability and Product Liability .  Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and 5+ years related work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Investigates facts surrounding claims and determines damages.
  • Exercises independent judgment and discretion in the evaluation of company liability.
  • Manages third-party claims with a diversity of exposure levels and an emphasis on Product Liability.
  • Manages litigated claims by working closely with our internal Legal Department and outside legal counsel.
  • Identifies the need for engagement of experts in the field of accident reconstruction, engineering, forensics, etc.
  • Responsible for timely and appropriate evaluation of reserves in compliance with company standards.
  • Negotiates settlements with third party claimants or their legal counsel.
  • Documents all activity in the claims database and maintains an effective diary system.
  • Reports claims to our Third Party Administrator and monitors their activity.
  • Communicates outcomes and strategies with field partners.
  • Conducts analysis of claim trends for Senior Management.
  • Collaborates with the Safety Department and field personnel during claim investigations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 5+ years related experience.
  • Must have Auto Liability, General Liability and Product Liability claims handling experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Experience or prior training in customer service.
  • Ability to learn and comprehend the technical components of propane and propane systems.
  • Efficient keyboarding skills.
  • Must be detail oriented and possess organization skills.
  • Enhanced computer skills, ie Microsoft Word, Teams, Excel.
  • Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States
