Overview

Ferrellgas is looking for an Area Product Coordinator in the Kansas City area to join the team! This position will ensure uninterrupted, safe, and efficient propane distribution and resupply to designated locations across the United States by utilizing a team of assigned transport drivers and established carrier partners. This position will primarily be responsible for preparing and distributing daily route schedules to assigned transport driver base and ensure the assigned drivers are current with DOT compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Distribute propane and other products within a designated region of the United States, utilizing a variety of assets including rail, truck, and pipelines.
  • Schedule and issue shipping instructions for the storage, exchange, and purchase of LPG.
  • Coordinate deliveries and communicate daily work schedules to assigned transport drivers.
  • Monitor driver’s DOT requirements and instruct drivers when action is needed to ensure compliance.
  • Forecast shipping requirements and adjust schedules to conform to production rates, storage levels, and demand patterns.
  • Provide a level of customer service that fosters customer satisfaction and position the organization to grow and retain customers.
  • Develop and implement systems that reduce expenses and maximize the utilization of assets within the assigned geographical area.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to accommodate short-notice and urgent deliver requests.
  • Maintain timely and accurate records of all transactions.
  • Prepare supply and demand reports and inventory forecasts.
  • Apply Federal Hours of Service rules and regulations when scheduling dispatch and correcting transport driver’s daily logs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Customer service experience required.
  • Must live in the Kansas City area.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on team building and developing a positive rapport with company employees and customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and to provide leadership when needed.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel and Word.
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills with the ability to effectively multi-task.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills in a customer-focused environment.
  • Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States
