Overview

Ferrellgas is looking for a Senior Systems Analyst to join the team! Under general direction, this position formulates and defines specifications for complex operating software programming applications and modifies/maintains existing applications. The incumbent is also responsible for designing, coding, testing, debugging and documenting programs. Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, or other I/T related degree and 7+ years’ experience in information systems development.

Responsibilities

  • Develops new information systems / web applications. Maintains and supports existing information systems.
  • Leads design meetings, reviews meetings, and other project team meetings. Acts as business function reviewer for team members in reviews.
  • Monitors system and applications.
  • Leads meetings with users, including requirements gathering, sign-off, and implementation meetings.
  • Provides assistance and guidance to programmers and analysts on the team. Ensures that systems produced by the team are efficient, robust, and meet the ultimate requirements of the users.
  • Produces project documentation according to department standards. This includes User Requirements, Technical Design, Program Narratives, Testing, and Release documentation.
  • Creates project plans and manages the projects to completion. Ensures adherence to project schedule, timely response, resolution of issues, and meet cost estimates.
  • Assists team members by guiding them through the standard development procedures. Where procedures are not clearly defined or non-existent, helps to develop clearly defined procedures.
  • Ensures systems are tested thoroughly before submission to Q/A.
  • On-call duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, or other I/T related degree.
  • 7+ years’ experience in information systems development.
  • 5+ years’ experience designing new systems or enhancements.
  • 2+ years’ experience supervising programmers or leading projects with multiple developers in an Agile environment.
  • Proficiency in multiple application programming languages (C#, JQuery, JavaScript, ASP.Net, Entity Framework (up through Core 2.1), VB.Net, Frontend Frameworks (Bootstrap, Angular), T-SQL, Powershell).
  • Good understanding of web service protocol such as SOAP, RESTful and API design.
  • Working knowledge of DevOps tools within a source-controlled environment such as: Visual Studio, TFS/Azure DevOps, Git, TeamCity, Octopus Deploy, etc.
  • Experience with CICD pipeline (Building and Maintaining the pipeline).
  • Experience working in a test-driven development environment.
  • Working knowledge of Content Management System (Kentico a plus).
  • Good knowledge of relational database design principles.
  • Basic knowledge of project planning and project management.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to manage conflicting demands and problems.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of Windows Server operating systems.
  • Working knowledge of IIS.
  • Ability to work with non-technical people, translating business needs into user requirements, and technical design documents.
  • Experience with Dell Boomi, box.com, AWS, and Kentico CMS.
  • Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States
