Under direct supervision this position is responsible for assigned tax compliance duties related to state and local sales/use, property, fuel, excise, and miscellaneous indirect taxes. Assigned tasks may include preparation and filing of tax returns, license applications and information reports, processing tax payments and journal entries and handling inquiries related to company vehicles within strict guidelines. As needed, the incumbent may provide support during state or local tax audits and coordinate the receipt and/or distribution of tax exemption documents to support tax exempt sale or purchase transactions. The ability to learn and understand tax specific software applications is desired and is required for some positions. May be required to communicate with company personnel, customers or vendors to obtain tax data and transaction information.
